Our Goal

Thanks to the recent Euro success of the Lionesses, England’s national team, Winchester City Flyers has seen an upsurge in interest.

We are now the largest club in Hampshire, yet despite having 27 youth teams and 3 ladies’ teams, there is currently too much demand and not enough capacity to provide adequate training facilities.

This is also the case for the other teams in the area who find it a continuous struggle to find all-weather pitches to train and practice on.

We can’t keep developing and supporting local girls coming into the game using our current shared and scattered facilities.

In the 26-year club history WCF have never turned any girl away, but soon we will have to.

Our goal is to create a dedicated training facility for the club which will be a new home for female sports in Winchester.

What is our primary goal ?

We are currently looking for a site in Winchester which can evolve over time into a significant facility. It needs to be…

  • Reasonably level, free draining and free of any issues that could impact on use

  • Good road and public transport access

  • Ability to build and use floodlights

  • A home for 3G artificial pitches, grass pitches, clubhouse, changing facilities and car parking.

If you know of a suitable area of land, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re asking everyone to help spread the message that Winchester City Flyers need a new home.
